Meet the Staff of the Make Cool Stuff Lab
A recent graduate and alumni of MICA's 2017 and currently the head lab technician of MICA's Make Cool Stuff (MCS) Lab. Jerron coordinates and maintains the machines in the lab. He is also the a great point of contact for anyone looking for assistance or information with lab and its assets.
If you have a specific question for Jerron, feel free to e-mail him here, or stop by anytime between 2pm and 9pm Sunday thru Thursday.
Frye is a member of the full-time faculty at MICA where she also serves as the Assistant Chair for MICA's First Year Experience (FYE) program. She founded The Make Cool Stuff Lab as a place for her students to play with new technologies and make work from the idea out (as opposed to the medium in). You're likely to find her designing nerdy toys and games for her students to learn with, fiddling with the latest techno-crafts or maybe just playing with blocks.
Steffanie Espat is currently the MCS Lab's Graduate Teaching Intern (GTI) and lab assistant. She is currently a graduate student enrolled in MICA's Social Design program. Steffanie specializes in Graphic Design, but has interests ranging from exhibition curation to, performance and fine arts, to rugby. Steffanie's diverse skill set makes her a dynamic assistant and a valuable asset to the Lab. So, don't hesitate to ask her questions or, for any help in the lab.
Eleni Marinos is a Sophomore enrolled in MICA's Film and Video program, and is currently one of our Undergraduate Assistant Technicians to the MCS Lab. While becoming a specialist in the field of film, Eleni indulges in the likes of old TV shows and movies from the early 2000's. This Lancaster native is very personable, and capable to help you with anything in the lab.
Natalie Hawkins is a Junior enrolled in MICA's Graphic Design program, and is our other valued Undergraduate Assistant Technician. Right now, she is specializing in publication design. Our hero doesn't stop there; she also has an interest in printmaking and fibers, and has taken all these skills to produce a small clothing brand. These skills make Natalie an invaluable asset to the lab so feel free to ask her for help or questions.
Cameron Johnson is the MCS Lab's first intern! He is a Junior hailing from Stevenson University. He currently is majoring in their Film and Moving Image program with a minor in Photography. We're lucky to have him for the Fall Semester so, if you see him be sure to ask him questions! He'll be sure to assist you or, tell you about all the bad movies he loves to binge watch.
